Book Returns Open May 4
On Monday, May 4 at 10:00 AM, book returns at Middletown, Trenton and West Chester will open to accept returns. Book drops at Liberty and Monroe will remain closed as those facilities are not large enough to allow for proper and safe handling of returns at this time. If you have a child who checked out books from the Bookmobile this school year, you are welcome to return these items to a physical location.
Due dates have been extended so your items are not overdue and no fines will be charged during the closure period. Opening some book drops will allow library staff to gradually process returns, quarantine items until they are safe to handle and prepare for our physical libraries to re-open. Please understand that even if you return items, they may still appear on your card as this process occurs.
When Will Libraries Reopen?
While we don’t have an exact date to reopen our physical libraries, we are working on implementing ways for patrons to pick up holds, including the possibility of a curbside service. Please look for announcements in the near future!
As we plan to reopen, we are working on implementing ways to keep both you and our staff safe. Plexiglass barriers have been installed at public service desks. Staff will be issued masks and gloves and, as always, buildings will be thoroughly cleaned routinely.
Continue to Enjoy Your Library from Home
More patrons than ever before are enjoying MidPointe’s digital resources. Here are a few highlights:
– MidPointe has increased the borrowing limit on hoopla to 15 items a month. On top of that, hoopla has introduced over 1500 “bonus borrows” that won’t count against your monthly check outs. Find them here.
– The popular genealogical research resource, “Ancestry,” typically only for in-library use, is now available at home through May 31. Find all MidPointe databases here.
– Find fun new virtual programming every week on MidPointe’s YouTube page.
