The MidPointe Library System offers so much more than books! From science kits and tablets to make learning fun, to board games to enjoy with your family and friends, these special collection items are available free with your MidPointe Library System card!
Toy Library
MidPointe now offers a special collection perfect for our littlest patrons – a toy library! Knowing that play is an essential part of child development, patrons can select from nearly 30 high-quality, educational toys to borrow and enjoy at home. This collection is geared for those age 5 and under. Items are cleaned when they are returned to the Library. Search and place items on hold here. The check out period is 21 days.
Podcast Kit
Ever dreamed of launching your own podcast? Now, MidPointe’s special collections feature a podcasting kit to get you started with a microphone, headphones, Zoom recorder and more! Check out a kit from the MidPointe’s Innovation Pointe makerspace in West Chester. Staff will provide you with a quick tutorial and you will be on your way to creating your own podcast! The check out period is 21 days and podcast kits can only be checked out with an adult card.
Mobile Hotspots
MidPointe offers mobile hotspot lending to provide patrons greater access to the internet away from the Library.
- Devices have a 21-day lending period.
- Hot spots can be placed on hold using your online Library account or by calling any MidPointe location.
- Up to 5 devices can be connected to one hotspot.
- Hotspots should be returned to a service desk and not in book drops.
- Hotspots can not be used internationally.
- Users accept and agree to follow the MidPointe Library System’s Internet Use Policy and Sprint’s Acceptable Use Policy.
Playaway Launchpads
Every Playaway Launchpad tablet is pre‐loaded with high‐quality, ad‐free learning apps and games, providing interactive learning and play.
Apps are grouped onto Launchpads by subject area, theme, grade level, and age. Featuring popular characters and brands, app content spans subject areas from math and science to critical thinking and creativity, and theme from animals to princesses, fantasy, nature and more.
Laptops
The MidPointe Library System offers laptop computers for use by patrons within the library. These wireless laptops are equipped with Microsoft Office applications along with internet capabilities. These laptops are available at MidPointe Library Monroe and Trenton locations. Checkout periods are up to three hours. Please see the MidPointe Public Policy Manual for additional laptop checkout details.
Connectivity Kits
Each Kit contains a Chromebook, T-Mobile wireless hotspot, charging cables and basic instructions for use inside a laptop bag. Downloads and files stored on the Chromebooks will be automatically deleted upon return to the Library. Connectivity Kits have a 21-day checkout period and can be renewed up to 5 times if no one is waiting.
Board Games
Get ready for game night with circulating board games from the MidPointe Library System! Up to two games can be checked out at once, with a loan period of 21 days. Check out our collection of games available in the MidPointe catalog. You can even use the format filter of “Board Game” for easier searching.
Phone, Tablet & Laptop Chargers
The MidPointe Library System offers a number of chargers available for checkout, including:
Laptop chargers (both Apple and other laptops)
Apple lightning (iPhone and iPad) chargers
MicroUSB (Android cell phone and tablet) chargers
Chargers are available at all locations, for checkout up to three hours. Visit the Desk for more information. Please note, users assume all risks related to using charging devices.
Learning Tool Kits
Perfect for educators or just the curious, MidPointe circulates educational science kits! An informational book to assist with studies accompanies each kit. Learning Tool Kits available for check out include:
